Read OpenDocument text files locally
Open an ODT document or OTT template to read formatted text, headings, lists, tables, and supported embedded images. Files stay on your device. Templates open as read-only documents, without creating or editing a file.
Navigate and read comfortably
Use the document outline to jump to headings, change zoom, or enter focus reading mode. Select and copy text directly. Internal bookmarks and footnote references remain usable when their destinations are available. Close or replace the document at any time.
Understand the reading layout
Documents use a continuous reading layout rather than exact printed pages. Explicit page breaks appear as separators; footnotes appear beside their references. Available default and first-page headers and footers appear in a separate expandable section. They do not repeat on every page. Original page sizes, pagination, complex positioning, and unavailable fonts may change the appearance.
Tracked changes are shown as if accepted: inserted text remains and deleted text is hidden. This does not modify the file. Comments, complex drawings, embedded objects, and some formatting may be omitted. Missing or linked images receive a compatibility notice. Remote content, external links, and macros do not run or load. Password-protected documents must first be saved as an unencrypted copy in an office application. ODS spreadsheets and ODP presentations are outside this viewer’s scope.
